ENZYMS AND ITS APPLICATION ARE YOUR TOPIC? WE, AT THE FRAUNHOFER IME PROJECT GROUP BIORESOURCES IN GIESSEN, OFFER YOU AN EXCITING Postdoctoral position in the field of protein chemistry/enzymology Join our scientific team in a key position and be responsible for the research on technical enzymes. You will work in a team on the identification, purification and characterization of enzymes with potential for application in industrial biotechnology, medicine and plant protection. You will perform complex protein expression and purification work as well as biochemical work to verify enzyme activity. The scientific project coordination with our industrial partners is also part of your job as well as the publication of results and the supervision of doctoral students. What we expect from you You have successfully completed your studies with a PhD degree in the areas of biochemistry, biology, biotechnology or a comparable field You have a specialized knowledge in molecular biology and biochemistry and good laboratory experience in protein expression, purification (large-scale), and characterization of enzymes Experience in LC and GC analysis as well as knowledge in bioinformatics are desired You are an independent worker, analytical thinker and have a high degree of creativity A good publication record is as self-evident as a very good knowledge of English, German is a plus You like to work in a multicultural, highly motivated team and are characterized by your communication skills You are enjoying the supervision of doctoral students and students What you can expect from us The Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME practice applied life sciences from molecule to ecosystem.
