ZAKRES PRACY:

On behalf of our client we are looking for energetic, resilient and dedicated people who want to progress their careers in the caring profession. They support children and empower them to face the issues both in their past and present that have caused them difficulties and provide outstanding outcomes for young people accommodated in the homes. Our client are a family owed company supporting looked after children with Care, Education & Therapy. Their young people are typically aged between 11 - 17. Each home can accommodate a maximum of 3 young people. They are looking for innovative support workers to provide their young people with the tools to succeed in life. Their home is located in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. You will be responsible for ensuring young people are supported and prepared to move onto independent living. You will ensure that high levels of emotional and physical care are planned, provided and applied in accordance with the home’s procedures and strategies. You will be a Support Worker as per the ‘Childrens Homes Regulations’ and required to fulfil the obligations set out in the ‘Quality Standards’. Therefore, emotional sustainability, sound partnership practice, verbal and written communication techniques, the ability to form lasting relationships, commitment to working issues through, to be tenacious in working in a planned way to achieve the best outcomes for the young person through establishing small achievable targets are required. You will have a passion for mentoring & supporting young people. You will be responsible for caring for the child as a whole, including emotional & educational support. As a Support Worker you will be responsible for liaising directly with the staff team, including our therapist & education coordinator. As a casual member of staff you have the flexibility of being able to tailor your working hours. Some casual staff work as few as 8 hours per month, some as many as 16 hours per week. Perhaps you have a particularly skill or hobby that you could engage our young people with? This is a fantastic opportunity to build up your experience within a Residential Childrens Care Home. Many of our client s casual staff have moved on to become a Full time member of their team. As a company they place a large emphasis on education & therapy. Experience in Counselling, Education, or Social Care is advantageous but not necessary. Full training with be provided. The Care Standards which regulate the staffing of children’s homes require all staff to be at least 4 years older than the oldest child accommodated. Consequently as our client s homes accommodate children up to the age of 18, you must be at least 22 years old. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this job. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
