As part of a dynamic and successful area of our business, our Tax team works with a wide range of organisations and individuals, helping them to implement the tax approaches that best suit their needs. Our Graduate Programme in Tax acts as a unified entry point for all graduates, for two main reasons. Firstly, this helps to ensure that everyone has access to the same training within the facilities of the unique KPMG Tax Business School. Secondly, it means youre free to explore the different areas of the practice before choosing where to specialise. Key Skills Required : Excellent communications skills in a range of situations both written and oral : Ability to work as a team member : The ability to present in a clear and concise manner : Commitment to delivering high quality work : Good task management, delegation and problem solving skills and an ability to manage own workload : Commercial awareness and an interest in the financial services industry Tasks and Responsibilities When you join, you will attend the nine:month intensive programme thats designed to equip you with all the core skills and knowledge youll need to start contributing within our teams. After joining the office; you can expect to be involved in the following activities:: : Preparation of a range of tax advisory and compliance work : Preparation of tax returns and computations : Acting as a key member of the client service team with smaller clients on day to day tax matters and working with the wider client service team on larger clients : Working with specialists from other tax areas and other disciplines to ensure that all relevant KPMG offerings are discussed with clients and targets : Keeping internal control records up to date and ensuring compliance with quality control procedures : Ensuring fees are raised regularly, identifying situations where overruns can be billed and assisting senior members of the department in billing for advisory work Qualifications youll work for Youll do all your training at the KPMG Tax Business School in London. Itll be a demanding nine:month course of study : but one that gives you a breadth of skills across business, accountancy and tax. Plus, you can rest assured that holiday and self:study time is included. In nine months, you should have completed all your exams to become a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a Tax Advisor, with the exception of the final ICAS TPE paper youll sit in your final year. Then, once youve gained three years practical experience, youll be fully qualified. Our Requirements: As a general rule, youll be expected to meet the following requirements: : Minimum grade B GCSE* Maths : Minimum grade B GCSE* English Language : Minimum of 300 UCAS Tariff points* : Minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline. * or equivalent Please note, that we only consider a candidates top 3 A:level grades and do not accept General Studies.
