About the Job; We have an opportunity for a ‘Pricing Actuary’ to join our Pricing and Technical team. This is a 6-12 month fixed term contract. As one of the more experienced members of the team, your role will be to provide pricing and actuarial services and specialist support to key stakeholders within the business. This will involve modelling, analysis and preparation of reports. You will also be required to present and explain your results. You will lead actuarial projects through to implementation, working closely with the product/proposition development team to ensure business decisions are soundly based and that ultimately our products are not only profitable but cutting edge. Our actuarial analysts will be supporting you on a daily basis. We will also need you to contribute to cross business projects, providing expert financial advice and highlighting the financial impact of proposed actions. About you; You will need to be a recently qualified actuary and will ideally have worked in a commercial pricing role preferably within life and pensions. We will also consider a nearly qualified actuary who demonstrates the right aptitude to learn and develop in this environment. We are looking for a self-starter; someone who can work on their own initiative, prepared to raise and tackle difficult issues swiftly and decisively, whilst remaining motivated. We will need you to have stakeholder management experience and strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills are critical. You will need to have a good level of knowledge of Excel and be able to grasp the significance and meaning of a range of technical and complex issues.
