Search Consultancy are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, hardworking Graduate 1st Line IT Support Technician for a great company based in South Manchester. Little to no previous experience in an IT department is necessary as all training will be given on the job through shadowing and direct, on the job mentoring. Any familiarisation with networks/servers/technologies/processes/virtualisation would be desirable. Customer service/voluntary experience is necessary for this role. Responsibilities of the successful applicant; * Ensuring that all helpdesk tickets are dealt with efficiently and documenting all technical goings-on within the company * Liaising with 3rd party support providers * Working with the development team to provide a stable infrastructure * Maintaining up to date logs of all hardware and software in use * Keeping the server room clean and tidy * Ensuring all backups are completed * Monitoring the infrastructure to detect any problems early * Keeping system documentation up to date You will have the following qualities to be successful in this role; Ability to effectively handle pressured questions from groups of managers, colleagues and external third parties. Ability to define problems, establish facts and provide solutions calmly and effectively. Ability to work under pressure. You will need to be a team player, however also able to work without supervision on an independent basis. Have a flexible approach to problem solving. Excellent communication skills are essential. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Have an analytical and methodical way of thinking The above lists are not exclusive or exhaustive and the successful 1st line support will be required to undertake such duties as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post. This may include travelling to other office locations and out of hours work. All employees are required to be professional, co-operative and flexible in line with the needs of the post. The Job A minimum of 40 hours per week is required as well as a flexible work pattern to accommodate business needs. Immediate start is ideal. The salary for this role is £14,000.
