3rd Line Support Technician – Routing /Switching/VOIP We are looking for an experienced  Senior Support Engineer/3rd Line IT Analyst/Network Engineer  with specific experience in  Routing, Switching and VOIP solutions/technologies  to work in our beautiful Manchester offices. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in  supporting LAN and WAN networks  for a multitude of SMEs, mainly remotely, and be comfortable with  liaising with clients mainly via email and over the phone  and happy to attend client site when required. Owning to the location of our offices, you should hold a valid driving license and own your own transport Current situation; roles and responsibilities JMC IT has a Support division comprising of Support Services and Managed Services. The team currently sits at 25 people in a variety of roles and there are 4 Senior Support Technicians performing this role. Reporting to the Service Desk Manager with task management by the SupportCare Team Leaders, you will: Provide typical 3rd line support, troubleshooting and administration to 350+ clients with varying complexities of IT infrastructures and networks primarily focusing on: Networking  (Dell, HP, Fortigate / Juniper / Cisco, MPLS, routing) VOIP technologies  (Cisco Call Manager / Call Manager Express, VOIP, Lync ) Work with the following protocols;  BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIPv2, HSRP, QoS Provide project support to the project delivery team on existing client projects and new client on-boarding/handover; requiring documentation. Be involved in key strategic client relationships requiring communication at levels Be responsible for the resolution of tickets assigned to you by the SupportCare Team Leader Help support, train and mentor other team members Being right for the job: + 4 years’ Experience of 3rd line supporting LAN and WAN networks A  CCNP in Routing and Switching is highly desirable  but not essential – experience is what is important Excellent working knowledge of  routing / switching equipment including, but not limited to,  Cisco, Dell, HP switches, routers and firewalls Excellent understanding of many of the following protocols – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIPv2, HSRP, QoS Excellent understanding and experience supporting or administering WAN connectivity solutions –  MPLS, PWAN, ADSL Experience troubleshooting any of the following would be advantageous: Cisco / VoiP phone systems (Call Manager / Call Manager Express), Fortigate / Juniper, Microsoft Lync, Windows Server (up to and including 2012), Microsoft Exchange, Server Virtualisation (HyperV / VMware) Excellent verbal and written English skills ; happy to write documentation and communicate with clients (over email and phone) A true lover of technology and continual learning and a natural trouble-shooter;  “TechnoGeeks you have a home with us!” Eligible to work in the UK permanently A valid driving license and own your own transport JMC IT is passionate about both its clients and its people.
