JOB DESCRIPTION:

My client are looking for an experienced Bid Writer to support the Business Development team of a highly successful company, operating in the Health & Leisure sector. In your role as bid writer, you will be tasked with effecting business growth through effective research and successful tender proposals to achieve key business objectives. Key Features of Role: (including, but not limited to): 1. Writing Tenders: · Produce quality documentation in a timely and accurate way · Completing relevant documentation and formatting to meet Branding requirements and standards · Carrying out relevant and accurate research, for development of the business in line with strategy and vision 2. Project management: · New and renewed contracts due for tender · Ensuring the timely submission of tenders and other proposals · Time and stakeholder management 3. Communication: · Excellent communication within the business development team, management teams and across the wider business · Building and managing stakeholder relationships The role will require you to: · Support in the achievement of the sales target through quality submissions which improve conversion ratio from submission to success · To write and develop content for tender responses which are bespoke to the target · Set and achieve tender deadlines by managing others effectively · Ensure all stakeholders receive regular feedback and advance notice of upcoming activity · Be up to date with our prospects and competition to ensure responses are bespoke and deliver our strategy clearly · Be proactive in pursuits to improve and deliver client services; taking onto account the needs and differences between customers and clients · Keeps up to date with industry and internal developments · Know at all times where we are against deadlines and communicate accordingly · Support the Bid Manager with the coordination of all work related to the securing of new business · To provide administrative and business support to the health management team (Regional Managers, Health Division Manager, Quality & Governance Manager, Bid Manager). · To ensure that commitment to equal opportunities is reflected at all stages of project management. Person Specification (all essential) (including, but not limited to): · A sound knowledge of procurement procedures within the Health market place · A sound knowledge and understanding of primary and secondary health care · Experience of working competently under pressure and to tight deadlines, often without direct/continuous supervision · Proven project co-ordination experience and high quality customer relationship management · Evidence of well-developed verbal and written communication skills in order to ensure effective communication with a wide range of individuals including clients, colleagues and external partners. · Proven ability to undertake and prioritise a diverse and demanding workload, using own initiative and working to competing deadlines. · Strong proven ability to confidently use computer software and packages including Outlook email, Microsoft Visio, Work, Excel and PowerPoint · Ability to communicate complex issues in writing in an accessible and engaging manner, combined with comfort in having your written communications edited by others · Ability to seek out information proactively from a variety of sources, including written/online materials and knowledge held by busy senior staff, converting this into accurate prose. KNOWLEDGE Familiarity with tendering portals, understanding of public sector procurement practices and demonstrable experience of managing, preparing and writing successful bids for contracts with national and local government departments and agencies. Understanding of and commitment to promoting equality of opportunity and social value, and celebrating diversity, in bidding and tendering. Knowledge of sources of information about tendering opportunities, understanding of and ability to assess new market opportunities in support of business strategy EXPERIENCE Experience of and an understanding of the Health Sector would be desirable. 2. Must have essential knowledge and experience of the complexities of writing and tendering for multiple bids This role is largely office based, but will all also involve occasional travel to other locations mainly across England. The salary for the role is between £30-40k pa, dependent on experience.
