Interim Contracts/ Procurement Lead - 6 months contract - Competitive hourly rate Ltd - Defence Organisation - Glasgow Our client is Defence organisation based in Glasgow who are looking for an Interim Contracts Manager (Procurement) to join their team on a 6 months contract. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for all procurement and supply chain activities associated with a particular contract. Develop procurement and supply chain strategies and plans. You will be responsible for managing complex contracts, devise plans to improve contract practice, delivering cost saving, quality and delivery timescales improvements, analyse risk management, carry out contract reviews and health checks. Ensure contractual and supplier risks are identified and in collaboration with procurement and contract management teams to ensure value for money is delivered through the whole life of a contract through effective supplier relationship management. Promote benefits of effective contract and supplier performance management in order to sustain contract value and deliver continuous improvement throughout the life of the contract and identify commodity groups. Ideal experience required for this Contracts Manager / Procurement Lead role: Previous Procurement / Contract Management experience Worked within a Defence/ Engineering/ Automotive/ Aerospace environment Experience dealing with low volume and high complexity contracts Experience in contract management, in particular building and developing customer, supplier and internal stakeholder relationships and management of supplier performance Strong IT software packages knowledge and experience - Word/Excel/PowerPoint Strong negotiation skills Excellent financial acumen skills - identify and implement business improvements resulting in cost saving opportunities Project Management experience Strong communication skills both verbal and written (presentation skills), with the ability to delegate and influence others Ability to liaise with Personnel/ Suppliers and Key Stakeholders at all levels Ability to manage the delivery of multiple activities in parallel, identifying and resolving potential delivery conflicts in advance Please note this role will require UK Security Clearance therefore applicants must be security clearable Unfortunately due to the large number of applicants individual feedback cannot always be given.
