JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose: Part of the commercial team working with customers and key internal stakeholders from Meadow Cheese and sister company The Cheese Warehouse Supporting the sales growth from both businesses in accordance with business strategy. Principle Accountabilities / Responsibilities: 1. Office based account management of customers - a. Acting as the key point of communication for customers, including price setting and negotiation b. Resolve any queries or complaints utilising resources within the business such as customer service, technical, finance and NPD c. Build relationships with customers to increase sales of existing products and identify opportunities for additional sales growth d. Responsibility for sales volume, revenue and margin for accounts e. Regular reporting of performance compared to budget and contribution targets to the rest of the commercial team f. Quarterly forecasting g. Evolving the way the customers are managed, using customer insight, sales and margin analysis to underpin proposed plans 2. Account Management of Customers a. Visit customers a on a regular basis review performance and resolve any issues b. Penetrate and build relationships with relevant buyers and their teams c. Understand and manage customerA s expectations in terms of relationship, product and service d. Capture and investigate business opportunities in to understand feasibility of projects, volume expectations, profitability e. Investigate each opportunity to understand feasibility of the project, volume, margin etc f. Communicate and justify these opportunities to the rest of the business 3. New Business Development - a. Look for new business opportunities within the industry to grow the customer base b. Understand customer requirements and validate their viability in accordance with business strategy c. Segment customers depending on their size and complexity i. large or complex enquires should be allocated to an account manager for further exploration along with supporting evidence ii. smaller or simpler enquires to be managed through to product launch and customer set up via appropriate pricing, sampling, credit checks etc d. Monitoring and tracking of new customer enquiries including monthly reporting to the commercial team on progress, success, failure and action plans 4. Working with and supporting the sales & marketing team. a. Provide support to the sales team who are managing large multiple site customers, which may involve site visits, customer visits, sampling, presentations and store audits b. Attend and contribute to exhibitions, workshops and visits as required 5. Customer contact details. a. Contact current and lapsed customers to update contact details obtaining contact name(s), address, phone and email b. Work with marketing to maintain customer contact database allowing for efficient and targeted customer communication c. Completion of Customer Analysis Template for Base Accounts detailing contacts details, basic customer information and potential growth opportunities d. Completion of Customer Analysis Template for Large House Accounts as above, but also detailing the longer-term plans for the account. 6. Company Product and Process Knowledge a. Ensure full understanding of companyA s mission statement and work towards this b. Build knowledge of the full product portfolio and the dairy market c. Work across departments to ensure the needs of the customers are being met d.
