JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a committed Special Education Needs (SEN) Assistant who will be specifically employed to work with children who need extra support or require an advanced programme of education in order to complete their learning successfully on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis You will be working with individuals who suffer from Autism, ADHD, and BSD or other learning difficulties/disabilities. A key aspect of working in this field is identifying individual needs and being responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment. The work of an SEN Assistant is often challenging and varied and may involve: · Teaching 1:1 or 2:1 level with NC1 or NC2 at P Level · Preparing lessons and resources and marking and assessing work · Developing and adapting conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of your student · Using special equipment, facilities and specialist skills · Collaborating with the classroom teacher to define appropriate activities for the pupils in relation to the curriculum · Assessing children needs and working with colleagues to identify individual pupils special needs · Liaising with other professionals · Liaising closely with parents and guardians; · Administration, including updating and maintaining records on pupils progress; · receiving in-service training Essential Requirements · Ideal candidates MUST have recent SEN teaching experience using the British curriculum. · Good standard education with personality and human qualities · Excellent skills in Maths, English and ICT are essential · Minimum 1 years experience in a identical role within 1:1 or 2:1 SEN teaching This role is initially offered on a Temporary basis with a view to become permanent for the right candidate.
